Woodward's new book, is not the problem for conservatives in attack mode.

It's the fact that there are 18 hours of audio tapes. Actual recordings that cannot be faked.

What level of stupid is a candidate that sits for 18 hours of recordings? Not that they should not do this, but finding one who voluntarily does this and can stay uncontroversial would be a wonderful thing to see.

We all know, if Trump did this ( which he did) at what time stamp would he have started lying?

I'm guessing that the first minute would not have been reached before some falsehood flowed past his tiny lips.

Somehow it seems that this was a very good time to speak up. Closer to the election,
the pandemic is worse, trump is off the rails, it takes the repubs focus off of the so-called
commie riots, and more and more.
Whether Woodward planned it that way I don't know, but it is causing a furor now and that's good.

With so much information may damage him in the election. Timing is everything..as they say.

I don’t think it will tank his polls, but the way I see it, a few days here a few days there all the while the election draws closer and the narrative slips away from him. He’s at his worst when having to play defense. That addled brain just can’t handle it, leaving him exposed to say the kind of conspiracy theory crap that makes people run the other way. Of course, not speaking about his cult base.

Because if Woodward had spoken up sooner maybe lives would have been saved. Almost 200,000 people have died each and every one of those lives is more important than Woodward’s book sales or the political damage done to Trump.

But we had the examples set by China, Korea, Vietnam, Italy, Belgium, and on and on to look at, get a freakin' clue, and decide what course of action to take. The goons in charge of the US decided to do nothing but try to make a buck off of people's serious illness.

Yes, it bothers me quite a bit that the number dead is racing toward 200,000. I or somebody I care about could very well join that number.

But the tapes could have been lost in the chaos and confusion months ago. Today's newest outrage will be thrown on the pile of the rest of the outrages, but it will be a memory fresh enough to not completely disappear before Nov. 3.

It seems to me that the single most important goal is to elect Biden. That will save lives.

Second, I don't see how Woodward speaking up earlier would have helped. Nothing will change Trump's response to the pandemic. He has proven to be immune to every rational, logical approach and argument.

The only way to save lives is to elect Biden. Woodward's timing helps achieve that goal.

That's all I've got. I could be wrong. Maybe Woodward is a self-serving asshole. He probably is. He is what he is.

Where was the decency in the MSM carrying on about Hillary's emails and "health problems" while they giggled and fawned over Trump?

I mean, most of them are disgusting. I've witnessed it in person. They're highly amused by Trump. They're ghouls.

i'd like to think if this hit the news in february that drumpf would have been shamed by his own words into doing more about the virus, but i think his own panic about screwing up the economy and also being a deer in headlights with no clue what to do about it, probably would have led us down the same road. but shame is a quality he doesn't have.

But, how can we NOT hold Woodward accountable for information that may have saved TENS OF THOUSANDS OF LIVES ?

This would be like knowing about the attacks on 9/11, and deciding that it's just not the time to inform the country.

"Hey, wink-wink... maybe you should skip work at the World Trade Center tomorrow".

Why excuse him of his responsibility as a member of the human race?

We can... AND MUST hold Donnie Dollhands accountable, and right fucking now, scanning Dante's Inferno doesn't provide me with an acceptable, proportional punishment for Donnie Dipshit and his asspickle enablers.

But, to have information that may have saved 100K+ American lives, and not do all you can to get it out seems criminal and inhumane to me.

Maybe you hold it back as we're getting to 20,000 dead, but when you hit 100,000 dead and 50 million jobs lost, you have an OBLIGATION to pound the fucking table.

It's not your obligation as a journalist... It's your obligation as a FUCKING HUMAN BEING!!!!
