Worse yet, if he has to bail, they’ll likely pick the reasonably good option, Mittens. Then the Lincoln Project switches dudes and becomes a huge last-minute PR for a plausible, undamaged candidate.

Where do some people get their strategy from? It doesn’t matter that it would be satisfying to watch Dump resign just before the election. WINNING the election is what matters.

Unless they can pin something on Pence also and at the same time. We're too close to the election. It would make him look like a sore loser if he resigns after he's lost (we know he is, but his cultists would see it as a weakness).
