Trump blabbed to Woodward because thinks of himself as interesting

He reminds me of murderer Robert Spangler, a man who got away with killing his family in Colorado back in 1978. He was later accused of killing two more wives and may have killed his father. The FBI took advantage of his narcissism and got him to confess to his crimes before dying of cancer.

He showed no remorse, saying, "I'm different. I think I am interesting." He said he agreed to confess because he wanted FBI profilers to explain to him why he was so good at killing.

Trump let Woodward interview him because he too thinks he's "interesting" and really good at killing. 190,000 and counting...

1) They think if they can "set the story" straight if they have an opportunity to tell their side.
2) Narcissists wrongly assume that everyone thinks exactly like they do (no matter how misguided their thinking is).

Trump blames others for cheating, because he cheats and assumes everyone does.

The case that he reminds me of is Dalia Dippolito. She was caught on video arranging a hit on her husband. Unbeknownst to her, the man she was hiring was an undercover police officer. A police sting caught her when she came back to her home believing her husband had just been assassinated.

Her interrogation is remarkable. When she was provided one phone call she called her husband, the man she'd just tried to have killed, and demanded to see him in person, because she believed, if she could just be alone with him, she could convince him of her innocence. That was her obsession: If I can just talk to him face to face, I can manipulate him and win him over, like I've won everybody over all my life.

She is a textbook example of a psychopath.

They live in a Dream world within their own mind, separate from the real world.

And evaluate the real world with their broken mind.

We can't really protect ourselves from them because they seem normal.

He constantly brags about his intellect and claims knowledge he doesn’t have. Like when he said all the Covid researchers were amazed by his grasp of their work. “I should have been a doctor.” But he is so stupid and arrogant that he can’t see that these claims turn into damning statements of incompetence, callousness or maliciousness. “I knew it was a pandemic long before anybody was calling it a pandemic.” Probably only braggadocio but if true, why do nothing to prepare for it for many weeks? Hoist on his own petard.

Its simpler than that.
Maggot thought he could charm
And manipulate Woodward
Into a "good" story about him.
Period.
It was like 1001 nights,
Scheherazade spins a tale......

Most of us get course corrections from others who let us know when we are wrong--but Donnie has gotten away with being dreadfully wrong much of his life. He can always find someone who will tell him what he wants to hear, what he needs to hear to feed his starving ego...and that is how he became the pathetic loser he knows he is deep inside (I really believe there is a part of him that is aware of his own worthless nature--and I hope it eats him from inside)
