To The Republicans Who Still Support Trump

I know there aren't any republicans here, unless you're trolling, but someone please explain something to me. I truly don't understand

If you're not a millionaire or a racist, what are you getting out of this guy! Why on earth do you still support him??

I had 2 Republican friends, who are neither millionaires nor do they fall into the deplorable basket, but I can't ask them this question because we are no longer friends (because of politics)!

I would love for someone to please explain this to me

The only thing I can think of is that they watch only Fox News, listen to Rush Limbaugh etc so they are brainwashed into thinking the Democrats are the bad guys

For those of you who have republican friends or relatives, who are not millionaires or racists, who still support Drumpf, what's your take on it??

2. I don't have any friends who support Pussy-Grabber.

But I AM friends who have friends who support him. From time to time I see them and their idiotic posts on FB. And the answer to your question is YES, they get their news from Fuxx and that cancer-ravaged HOG, Rush Limbaugh. By the way, WHEN oh WHEN is he going to die?

It's always obvious where they get their news. I always ask them if they can tell me their source, and they can't except for the fake news I already mentioned. They are utterly and completely brainwashed.

They are racists and love his “tough talk” about mowing down the thugs rioting in cities.

They may be closet racists. But they are racists.

5. Don't under sell the racism

Racism doesn't always shout N****R on the street.

Often it says shit like "He should have complied"

Or "We put a lot of effort into making this neighborhood nice..."

Or millions of other coded messages, but it all comes down to support for White Supremacy. It is the GOP's core bedrock value.

We can tell because Trump stripped all the other "Values" away from the GOP but 42% of America is fucking A-OK with it

Very true...racism falls on a spectrum. You don't have to be a full blown KKK hooded torch carrying lunatic to be a racist!

14. Think about a very mediocre White MLB baseball player in 1946.

Stats aren't very good. Very marginal player. Then you hear about how MLB will integrate in 1947. You're probably are going to be racist because you only have that spot due to segregation. With an influx of talent from the Negro leagues, your days as a player are numbered.

8. Read John Dean's new book

Dean explores studies about how Germany came under the Nazi influence.

Turns out about 25% of humans are authoritarian types that tend to follow strong authoritarian leaders. once they pick a leader they will follow him over a cliff. You can not reason with them.

btw most evangelicals are authoritarian types.

Please read this book of you really want to understand the Trumpers.

every 6 months a new study from Harvard or yale explains the authoritarian brain. And yup. 25%. Even if they're suffering from it.

9. Trump is going after the people that they hate, mainly Liberals.
Thu Sep 10, 2020, 04:41 PM
Sep 2020

Liberals are seen as White race traitors. There are people in this country who believe that their race, White, and religion, Christianity, entitle them to ALL of the benefits that the country has to offer. All other races, religions, ethnicities should have to work 5 times as hard to get half as much as they have.

Liberals fight for and push for equality of opportunity which they see as something being taken away from them and given to people less deserving. This mindset cuts across economic lines. Better off White supporters of Trump think that they're tax dollars will be taken away from them and given to underserving Blacks and immigrants. Poorer White supporters of Trump think that it was the trade deals or that the Democrats only care about the Blacks in the inner cities.

In sum, Trump supporters are well aware of the privileges of being White, and to them Trump fights to maintain their privileges.

12. Foxnews/hate radio also brainwashes the notion that democrats are pure evil
Thu Sep 10, 2020, 04:44 PM
Sep 2020

Foxnews addicts tolerate nearly anything from republicans in part because they've been programmed to think of democrats as nearly pure evil.

So they'll tolerate big scandals in what they see as otherwise good politicians because the alternative is somehow so completely horrendous. To them, they support Donnie because to do otherwise is to support the devil.

They may or may not think of this in religious terms, but in any event the effect is this strong. Decades of hearing about democrats linked with negative words said with derision and a smear, like socialism and communism and scandals and emails and elitism and taxes and whatever.

They think of us as the dark side. Yeah, as if darth Vader wanted to give people health care. Crazy, but this is how they've been programmed to think.

Plus, yeah, they're racists. They don't like the label. They like thinking of themselves as non-racist. In fact they like thinking American is not racist. Nothing like preserving white privilege than by pretending they're not big beneficiaries of it....

... and love to wallow in that hatred. There is a lot of racism built into that attitude, certainly. But they hate Pelosi and Schumer and other democratic leaders as much as they hate “the coloreds”.

They have stewed in talk radio and Fox for years, and they genuinely believe the democrats want to destroy the country. They cant articulate why or how, and they have nothing but suspect anecdotal evidence of this, but they are as convinced of it as they are that the sun will rise in the morning.

16. The studies show that conservatives contribute
Thu Sep 10, 2020, 05:04 PM
Sep 2020

more to charity than liberals. Turns out it's because they control to whom they give. Liberals, on the other hand, don't feel overtaxed because the dollars are spread to the entire welfare. Hence, the battle over tax dollars is rooted into a tribal support over social progress across the spectrum. Liberals will allow for dollars to go to the unwashed. Conservatives don't see the point. Of course, this is a broad brush, but the psychology exists.

20. Been trying to figure this out for 4 years.

Maybe the biggest mystery is the highly educated gay married couples I know, or used to know. I’ve silently unfriended them. And only knew about their right wing views from Facebook posts, which I gave up about 4 years ago because of that. And I don’t think they were racist tbh. I keep saying to myself it’s useless trying to figure it out. There’s so many reasons I come up with but still it makes no sense.
