He was lying to the people. He was deceiving them for political gain. He wanted to keep the economy going, along with the stock market, and he wanted to keep his "rallies" going. It was all about his own selfish interests, as Americans died.

He paused, froze, CHOKED for just long enough for it to get a little out of control. He couldnt correct course because that would mean hed been wrong. Hed failed. Cant compute. He started trying to cover his tracks. Stop the tide from coming in.
He ended up completely bailing, dropping the ball off on the states.

(182,274 posts)Trump felt like everyone must want to hear from me and ONLY I can fix it. This lead to the daily embarrassments that were the press conferences, complete with him crowding in to stay on screen. Those daily ass showings were incredibly damaging. People got a good look at who he is right in their living rooms. Thats when his numbers really started going south.
From there he was just sure hed do great with the Axios interview and had already completed the Woodward late night booty call sessions. More Trump = more problems FOR EVERYONE.

(3,741 posts)today just remember how New Yorker's and American's handled that day and the aftermath. We did not PANIC. WE stuck together. trump's pandemic hit NYC. Remember that. NY had to deal with less then no help from trump. They dealt without panic and pulled through the avalanche of death. trump has such a poor assessment of the American people. He sees us as a bunch of fearful losers and suckers. Pure projection.
