Biggest story flying under the radar today

Here the Treasury Dept., under mnuchin is calling derkarach, as russian spy! This is one of gulliani's top misinformation broker for this whole October surprise campaign. This is one of the big witnesses for the repubcomrads in the Senate and House that plan hearings. Who is behind the scenes that just sunk this ship before it sailed? Am I wrong or is someone behind the scenes working to shut this most horrible display of russian propaganda now metastasized into some hearing that was to be foisted against our election by our own? A grenade has been tossed into this sham investigation and a warning flag has been raised to all that dare proceed forward ... you too will tie yourself to a traitor. Hey is mnuchin the deep throat inside the admin? He is the worst anyhow, I give him no quarter but he did something really amazing here, if in fact it was he who declared derkarach to be a russian spy.

Yesterday, the Treasury Department officially labeled Andriy Derkach “an active Russian agent for over a decade, maintaining close connections with the Russian Intelligence Services.” The only person who even claims to find this remotely surprising is Rudy Giuliani, who has been working hand in glove with Derkach for months.

Reached by the New York Times, Giuliani pleads ignorance:

Mr. Giuliani said in an interview Thursday night that he “felt comfortable” meeting with Mr. Derkach “because there were no sanctions against him” at the time. While he acknowledged that he “didn’t do much investigation” of Mr. Derkach, Mr. Giuliani said: “I have no reason to believe he is a Russian agent. There is nothing I saw that said he was a Russian agent. There is nothing he gave me that seemed to come from Russia at all.” But he added, “How the hell would I know?”

Giuliani’s reason for not suspecting Derkach as a Russian agent is that he didn’t tell him he was a Russian agent. I am not an espionage expert, but I have watched enough spy shows to know that one of the basic practices of foreign agents is not to announce that they are foreign agents. If you have ever watched The Americans, you will notice that Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings do not go around wearing furry Russian hats and handing out KGB business cards. It’s basic tradecraft.

Now, the fact that Derkach was advancing Russian interests was hardly a secret. He had previously belonged to the Party of Regions. That’s the pro-Russian Ukrainian party that had been financed by Russia, and whose campaign had been managed by Paul Manafort in 2010. If Giuliani had any suspicions in his mind, he could have done a Google search and turned up

3. Mnuchin is not a stupid man

A greedy venal one, most certainly -- but not stupid. He can read the handwriting on the wall that says "Trump is toast." He knows perfectly well that post-Trump, there will be an independent criminal investigation. Blowing the whistle on Derkerach gives him cover to avoid circling down the drain with the rest of the traitors.

Whatever his reason, I'm grateful that he did it.

7. The Treasury press release says he also did this back in 2018.

Treasury has previously designated the Russian troll factory known as the Internet Research Agency (IRA), and its Russian financier Yevgeniy Prigozhin. Prigozhin has been designated by the United States pursuant to E.O. 13661, E.O. 13694, as amended, and most recently by E.O. 13848 for providing material support to the IRA’s influence activities against the 2018 U.S. midterm elections.

The DOJ under the traitorous liar and lackey Barr will do nothing.
Blindfolds and cigarettes all around for this administration.

there is just so much news. There was also a picture of Sen Ron Johnson with this guy posted yesterday on DU, I think. It seems he has been a russian agent as long as Johnson has been a senator, not sure if there is a connection or not. I am hoping they are waiting to charge Ghouliani until after Trump is gone, but I also am hoping there is a counter intelligence investigation on Johnson.

16. Coming off last week's Atlantic article

which reported trump called military members suckers and losers, this week is much worse.

trump lied when he claimed he never said that, despite audio and video of him saying exactly that. Some of which was revealed by Woodward. Speaking of Woodward, he also revealed that while trump was telling the public that Covid was nothing to worry about, he was saying the complete opposite in private.

Then there was the whistle-blower complaint at NSA. An intelligence official clams the head of DHS, Chad Wolf told him to fix intelligence on the protests to fit trump's narrative of blaming the left. Oh, and stop reporting on Russia, stick to China and Iran.

Combined with this latest news, that Russian spies have fooled Giuliani, trump's best friend and lawyer, being outed by trump's Treasury official, Mnuchin.

Just this week alone could inspire a TV mini series.
