The Green Party is (still) not our friend.

Fringe candidate Howie Hawkins is suing to be placed on the Wisconsin ballot in November. This has provided the 4-3 conservative majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court the excuse they needed to temporarily forbid sending out mail-in ballots to voters who have already requested one. This action takes effect one week prior to the deadline for the mailing to take place. And anyone who thinks that those partisan hacks are going to expedite their final disposition in order to ensure that mail-in voting can actually take place is dumber than Eric Fucking Trump.
Fuck Howie Hawkins. Fuck Jill Stein. And ... oh yeah ... FUCK Ralph Nader. Again.

The Greens have every right to make such a challenge, just as we would under similar circumstances. If you value free and fair elections, you don’t damn another party for standing up for itself and it’s candidates. Inconvenient and problematic? Damned straight. The”wrong” thing to do? Never.

The minute we start acting like Rethugs, willing to break both the spirit and letter of the law for partisan convenience, WE become the problem. WE screwed up an election, not Nader. Jill Stein became a patsy for Russian election interference. Ok, fuck Jill Stein, assuming she figured it out and still went with it.

We have a right to complain about lawlessness in elections. We do not have the right to complain about inconvenience caused by another party asserting its legal rights under election law.

And my opinion is "fuck 'em".
Nader was on an ego trip, but he knew what he was doing. How many American fighting men and women died as a result of that little folly? Stein was complicit, and Trump's death toll dwarfs W's. I don't know who the fuck Howie Hawkins is, but I do know he's no friend of the Democratic Party.

The deadline to mail out ballots is in seven days. Ballots have already been printed and some were send out.
If greens were to be added, all the ballots will have to be reprinted, and send out again, and there is no time to get that done before the deadline. And some people would get two ballots.
So they could end up voting on a wrong ballot and get their vote not counted.
I'd say this is a major disaster, not a "inconvenience"

of other parties needing to be respected and preserved are perfectly valid. You appear to have completely glossed over the practical consequence of the situation. It appears to be a classic case of not seeing the forest for the trees. Are you really advocating that the complete overturn of the (already established) voting process in a swing state is an acceptable outcome for this third party legal challenge?

If so -- you're kind of making the OP's argument for them. And why some might come away with the idea that the Greens are (consistently) more focused on monkey-wrenching -- than any legitimate political exercise.

This is 100% an attempt to throw the state to Trump. The green party had insufficient signatures to be on the ballot. They aren't on the ballot.

They are teaming up with 3 Republican judges to essentially halt mail in voting in an attempt to throw the state to Trump.

There is a rule, that was known to all involved, that the address on the petitions has to be correct. It wasn't. But WI gives them the ability to explain, they didn't. Then they sat for two weeks while the ballots were printed and said nothing. Only at the last possible second, did they decide to sue. Oh, and their lawyers, GOP lawyers. This is utterly transparent. These woke white liberals conspired to prevent blacks from voting, pure and simple.

Clerks can't mail the ballots out. Then there is West who is suing to get on the ballot. He just lost in court but will presumably appeal to the Supreme Court too. Are they going to stop it for him also?
The way this is going, those voters might never get their ballots.

I respectfully agree and disagree with your post. I think it raises an important topic, and appreciate it for that.

I have family & friends who are long-time Green Party members. Overall, I'm fine with that, as I understand their belief that the country could benefit from more than two parties. However, in 2020, I think it is essential to vote for Joe Biden, no matter if one is a Democrat, a Green, an independent, or even a republican. Far too much is at stake.

As a footnote, I'd add that Nader was not the cause of the loss in 2000. The US Supreme Court selected their personal favorite, despite several justices having glaring conflicts of interest (as Vince Bugliosi pointed out). More, the Florida ballots were horrible, resulting in not only the "hanging chad" controversy, but in Patrick Buchanan getting many unintentional votes that he said were mistakenly made and intended for Gore.

One could go back to the campaign, and consider Gore's choice for VP -- read Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.'S journals, in which he and other Democrats though one term of Bush was better than supporting Joe L in any election -- as well as the debates, and the campaign's limited use of Bill Clinton.

I've always found it facile to place all the blame for 2000 on Nader. Agreed that Lieberman was a huge liability. And the "butterfly ballot," the Roger Stone-orchestrated "Brooks Brothers Riot," and ultimately the disastrous and corrupt Supreme Court decision, constituted a perfect cluster giving us the Cheney-Bush war crime cabal.

Also agreed that Biden is the only sane choice in 2020, unless maybe one lives in Wyoming and cast a play vote of no consequence.

...too many Greens make themselves willing or unwilling tools of Republicans.

And even those who are sincere are stupid about denying the spoiler effect they play. If they were serious about the actual issues they claim to stand for, they'd do the hard work of building up from the local level first instead of running impossible-to-win national elections. They'd help Democrats in races where they should be smart enough to know that they'll do nothing more than help Republicans, and hurt their own causes even more.

The "there's not a dime of difference" Greens who claim Democrats and Republicans are supposedly all alike... fuck 'em.
