Florida, approximately 60 miles to water on both the Gulf and Atlantic. That means we see rain and some wind, but almost never take a direct hit.

We’re expecting tropical weather starting tomorrow and a ton of rain over the next 4-5 days. Gonna be a gully washer but we’re ready. After all these years of living on the Gulf Coast, we know the drill. And you never turn your back on these things until they are ashore and booking on off for Tennessee or points north. No matter where they say it is going, they always tell us their predictions 4-5 days out can be off by 150 miles! Yikes. That is why we keep a close eye on storms until they make landfall. A slight wobble in either direction can save your biscuits or wipe you out. So stay tuned. 👀

I can't help but be thankful it seems like it will pass us - but our brethren in the Gulf don't need this either.

And the rest of the work on the screen porch later in the week. I can live for a bit longer without the porch (or the deck above it) but we've been without an AC unit for almost two weeks.

Week before last, it crapped out Friday evening. An emergency repaid got it back up - kind of - for exactly a week, then it quit for good. New one is being shipped and will replace the old one with a much more efficient unit with zones for the different parts of the house.

We've been limping along with a window unit and by overworking the new unit for the new addition, plus fans to distribute the cool air.

It looks like its going to be an interesting couple of weeks down here in the tropics...

2020 weather has been rough on the west coast too.

The gulf and the Caribbean are ground zero right now...stay safe yourself.
