clearly more than half the ballots will be missing from the tally boards on every TV screen. So many mail-in ballots. The votes totals would look puny and very suspicious for anyone to declare trump the winner. Red mirage? Yes a little, but the more I thought about it the more I thought how strange it would really be to see say, the State for Florida, for example, final votes tallied missing over 4.5 million votes from the totals on election night that were counted in 2016 on election night. No one would dare call that election for trump. ... he's gonna lose and it is going to be a slow one.

(3,741 posts)The Red Mirage was not totally plausible to me. Good that Florida will have all the votes counted on election night but I would check all the Post Offices within 500 miles to make sure the have all the ballots.

(7,627 posts)Which is why you often hear Kornacky on MSNBC saying that first batch was from mail in ballot when the first results appear shortly after 8.
The provisional ballots are the ones that takes extra time,

(3,741 posts)will hack the voting machines, change the votes. The Russians already have access to the voter registration election web sites. Is this not how putin runs his elections? Just asking. They will also know who has requested an mail in ballot an if it has been returned before the votes are even counted. Didn't the Muller report say that the Russians had some other thing that they planned to use last time but did not because trump won. What exactly what is that thing? That is what Biden's team needs to look for.

(25,841 posts)all the mail-in ballots are counted are completely overwrought. I believe many states start counting those ballots as soon as they arrive. The few states that don't may well change their counting protocols before election day, or will be so few as not to matter.
I have to say, that every single election cycle this century I've seen confident claims that the convention will be brokered, that we won't know on election night who has won, or that the electoral college will be tied. I don't understand why so many people are jonesing for these outcomes.
The election of 2000 was a one-off.
The bigger worry needs to be, what horrors will Trump and all his Republican enablers pull off between November 3, 2020, and January 20, 2021?
