A breath of good news, seemingly...

I'll preface this by saying I live in a reliably blue state, WA. However, like all blue states, we have wide swaths of red zones who vote reliably Repub.

Now, my sibs have some campground properties up in the Gold Bar area of Eastern Snohomish county, and it is kind of 'redneck' country. Small towns strung along a major highway (US2) like beads on a string. It's the area where the gunners fell for the "antifa is invadingour town" hoaxes. Four years ago when I drove up there, there were tons of Trump signs. And not just little lawn signs, the big ones...4' x 6' at least. So big they needed 4x4 posts to support them. Must have been 15 or more of them in the 10 or so miles between Monroe and Gold Bar. I always wondered if some of those folks were paid to post them, but whatever.

Well, I just drove up there this week, and...nothing...nada. Didn't see a single Trump sign. There were numerous political signs for various candidates, including for the Repub who will lose to Gov Inslee this November. Didn't see a single Trump sign until the second day I was there, and that was a hand written cardboard one tacked up on someone's board fence.

Now, on coming home, I did see a mini-rally of sorts along the road side, a group of folks out yelling and waving signs for a couple of Repub candidate for other offices and there were a few Trump flag wavers (why do they need flags again?) mostly in the background. I flipped them off as I drove by.

Just an anecdote from a blue western state, but perhaps a glimmer of hope that support for Hair Furor is fading a bit.

Not far from the Hoh rain Forrest.

So, not too far from Forks.

Several Trump signs, but my daughter assures me that the area isn’t the redneck wasteland it looks like.

Also, Stephane Meyers apparently wrote another Twilight book? So lots of masked up tourists. Rednecks behave for tourists

I always liked Goldbar.

They are trying to outdo each other! Each Trump sign or flag gets bigger and more elaborate. Like they are trying to overcompensate for, um, something.

I lived in Vancouver WA last election and there were quite a few trump signs at that time. Haven’t been by there recently but one could hope.

He stuffed both feed into his big, fat mouth with those comments on "suckers" and "losers." Nearly everybody out there has had a family member in the military, even if it was Grandpa.
