White, racist (except for football players), high school grad (maybe), they listen to Rush & Fox, 85% of them are concealed carry types or want to be, sexist (they loath Hillary 'cause she is a strong woman), and they like the fact that Trump is an asshole because he "is not politically correct."

Although they do not reflect all of the state .... but at a construction site "those types" tend to be
concentrated.

And many of them really believe that antifa exists and that the blacks want to take over.

5. Contractors...doesn't surprise me one bit.

They hate that they have to go to city hall and pull a permit every freaking time....and it costs money to do so. And then have to deal with an public servant who inspects their work and on occasion, require improvement. Codes in one city not the same as the codes in another, etc. But who do they blame? Not City Hall, but Democrats...even when City Hall is comprised of Republicans.

Because they automatically assume its Democrats for the OSHA rules, Building Codes, Fee's, etc.

And who are most contractors....as the Dump said, "I love the poorly educated". If the contractors had their way, asbestos would still be used. Let that sink in.

12. The political division in this country is racial

and cultural far more than it is class based, because for a generation now (well before Trump) the white working class has been voting for the GOP against its own class interest.

That's why when the populist left tries to rally people based on class alone it doesn't work, because no message will get through to these people as long as they are filled with Fox/RW propaganda against liberals/Dems/PoC etc. Trump really is 'the bodyguard of Western civilization' in their minds. These people don't need to be coddled but to be confronted on their warped worldview.
