OMG. I'm in tears. Rob Reiner said that he and Carl were reciting "The Princess Bride" &

the last words Carl said were, "As you wish." I don't know why that got to me. Rob said that his dad wanted so much to live long enough to vote that thing out. Rob is working hard to see that becomes a reality. Bless him.

And this was Cary Elwes' idea to do the reunion. He has a friend from Wisconsin and he asked what he could do to help. She suggested a reunion, Rob Reiner came onboard, and the rest is history. It was a great way to spend a Sunday night.

introduce everyone.

Eric and Whoopi were a nice addition.

Curious about why Fred Savage didn't do it. Rob Reiner said everyone alive agreed to do it. But, Fred Savage isn't dead. So I'm confused.

Rob Reiner did a great Peter Falk grandpa imitation.

It was absolutely wonderful - glitches and all.

As for Fred Savage, maybe he's a Republican?

Most of the original cast — at least those who, as director Rob Reiner put it, "haven't died" — reunited for a script reading of the 1987 classic.

Most. Not everyone alive.

So I guess either Fred was unavailable, or didn't support the cause...

I always thought they both were hilarious!

This will tell you how old I am, but I loved “ Meathead” and his progressive views on “Archie Bunker!” Omg.....I really AM old, aren’t I?....LOL

My kids and I have loved “The Princess Bride” for years and have probably seen it twenty times. I love Cary Elwes so much, and I thought Robin Wright was beautiful in the movie. It was such a wonderful fairy tale adventure.

I’m sorry Carl didn’t get his wish and live to see that orange monstrosity masquerading as a human being booted out of our lovely White House.

I am so happy that you shared that! I received some bad news late today and have been feeling really sad and hurt. But just reading that made me smile, and that is a lovely break right now.

So, thank you, again, catbyte.

In exchange for a donation to a Wisconsin Democratic group you could purchase a ticket and watch it. I unfortunately missed it. I really loved the film. So many quotable lines.

I would support this even though I'm Canadian. I want to see it so badly, Princess Bride is one of my favourite movies of all time. The scene when Buttercup kicks Westley down the hill and he shouts, "As you wish!" only for her to throw herself down after him is so hilariously beautiful.

Carl and Rob Reiner, two of my favorite people.

We can still, by proxy, help Carl with his his wish to vote that "thing" out.

I will do my part.

Even with all the technical glitches.

Mrs. Aristus and I were in tears much of the time.

I remember that the final scene in the film, with Peter Falk saying "As you wish", didn't really resonate with me the first couple-dozen times I saw the movie.

Then I became a grandfather...
