Has a great map
That shows the forecast of where the smoke is expected to blow too. It is saying in the next couple days to spread out across the northern U.S. and southern Canada.

I wondered about it, but didn't believe the smoke from the western fires could have such a noticable effect this far east.

It's still here, with horrible ratings. All over the Pacific NorthWest- Portland, Spokane, Walla Walla, Vancouver...

For us it's a low level thick haze that smells like a burnt forest. So thick that there are no shadows, and you can barely see where the sun is in the sky.

Very similar thick high level haze.

Except there was very fine volcanic ash on our cars back then.

Toledo weather said the smoke is about 20-25,000 feet up. It’s dropping our temperature by about 1 degree.

The satellite image showing the wildfire smoke. The area in the orange contour is smoke in the mid-upper levels of the atmosphere that has reached Michigan, according to the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center, which notes that the red contour shows dense smoke near the West Coast. has now made its way hundreds of miles down to So. California. Viability is down to maybe a half mile, and there is definitely a smokey smell.

Local temps are uncommonly mild, in the mid 80s rather than kicking past 100. Everyone is staying indoors with the A/C. Even my pupper only goes out to do her business and wants back in immediately.

No forests to burn in the desert, but plenty of scrub and tumbleweeds, and those things burn hot as hell.

Signals off from satellites further to the west could definitely be affected, I would think.

The further west you aim, the thicker the smoke.

I got this from my phone, it's a weather radar image of the country, with the forest fires highlighted as well.
Out west, you see a large amount of fires. In the east you see two hurricanes, but there are 4 more named storms on the way as well that are out of range.

This is historical. Will we go down in history for doing nothing and it just gets worse? Or will this be the year that we wake up and take drastic measures to fix this problem?

Inquiring minds want to know.

California has been getting pollution from China for decades!

On edit, said pollution from China has been killing or causing diseased trees in forests, leading to the combustible nature we are currently experiencing.
