Fuck #fatdonnie. If he had protected America we wouldn't be teaching remotely and I wouldn't be

scared for my students.

I have been a teacher for 25 years. I am a fucking rock star but teaching remotely sucks.

We are mandated to use Microsoft Teams.

Everything is lagging, kids keep getting kicked off -they claim and I don't know if it is real or an excuse. I have one student that has done one single assignment

But my kids do show up and log in.

Not sure if anything is connecting and I feel obsolete and a failure

I would die if I got the virus but damnit I feel lost and overwhelmed

None of this would be necessary if that piece of shit had just let people do their jobs.

Or if republicons hadn't stolen the election.

Other countries are returning to normal. We are becoming a disease-ridden shithole.

But I can’t even imagine what you are going though. it’s hard enough teaching kids in a classroom and it must be a nightmare to teach online. We need to be with the kids and some of them need to be with the teacher In a hands on learning environment. But that SOB in The White House Is to blame for his negligence and now our kids are suffering. My only hope is that kids will miss being in school so much that when we return to in person teaching they will be more excited and enthusiastic to be in class again. Their brains are so plastic after being away maybe they will crave learning. That is my hope for this lost year.

I can't imagine what kind of a challenge it is to teach right now.

I'd also like to thank you for the heads up on Teams. I learned last week that my employer has decided all remote meetings will take place using it. Sounds rotten.

Residential internet is not the same as commercial and industrial internet. We're going to need a massive nationwide overhaul of our internet access services. Our internet should be fiber based and we should be getting 1GB / second minimum. Right now I am barely getting 65MB. That's definitely not internet that is ready for heavy duty video chatting.

Until we do, the stay at home model is not sustainable in the long run future.
