New Englanders: how has your morning been so far?

Did the sun come up looking like a dull gold coin? At 46 degrees here in southwestern New Hampshire, it looked more like a humid July morning in the middle of a heat wave. Now the sky is milky white. I can't smell smoke but I've got to wonder if we're seeing the effects of the West Coast fires.

Chilly morning. Layers of flannel and fleece. Sky has a yellowish cast to it. Definitely effects from the smoke. National Weather Service posted this morning.

The sun is out enough to make shadows, but just barely. And it’s in the 40s this morning.

is milk-white, the other half is a gray-blue. It is noticably different than any other morning this summer.

still only in the very low 50’s at nearly midday.

the sky has a very fog-like look to it. No real clouds, just homogenous overcast - some areas look yellowish, other areas a bit of blue cast.

Now I need to admit to hubby that he was right when he said he thought we were getting effects of the fires, this far east.

Yuk, I hate the taste of crow.

Maybe with some chianti?

Here, it's a pea soup of smoke, fog, and drizzle all the way to the ground this morning. It's actually a little better than yesterday.

Sky is a very muted blue when it shouldn't be. It's a typical mid September day otherwise. Definitely the smoke has drifted in.

That's upper 80s Fahrenheit--unusually warm for this time of year.

On the plus side, you should get some really dazzling sunsets.
