(8,361 posts)Though opponents say ballots could be stolen or vandalized in unsecured drop boxes, Merrill said shes seen no evidence of fraud, tampering or vandalism.
The clerks empty these things a couple of times a day, actually, and they usually are in very prominent places, Merrill said. It would be really difficult to vandalize one of these boxes.
Theyre bolted to the ground. I mean, its really quite a secure system.

(31,261 posts)In 2018 the MAGABomber unintentionally impacted, and I argue, likely changed the outcome of elections in Florida. Who is to say that MAGATS wont remember that and purposely start fires in drop boxes that serve minority and other blue areas?
People need to get it in their heads that Trump, DeJoy and General MAGATS are not going to make it easy for us, we should expect to go to extremes that we have not had to in the past. What extremes? Masking and PPE up and go in to vote in person, early voting EVEN IF republicans make that difficult for big blue counties, walk a finished mail-in ballot into the elections office, identify oneself as the voter for the ballot and stand there until it is stamped as accepted.

(31,261 posts)Democratic officials KNOW what is at stake. They should have been agitating for boxes before the ALCU sued.

(54,770 posts)I'm sure the SoS could step in if there were not enough polling places, ballot drop boxes, etc. But the GOPer in Georgia isn't going to care about any of that stuff.
