KS: Bank Arena will host 'mega voting' center for early voting in upcoming election BY DION LEFL

Sedgwick County’s biggest entertainment venue will be pressed into the service of democracy this fall, hosting the county’s first-ever “mega voting site,” election officials said Tuesday.

Intrust Bank Arena will have 50 early voting stations, offering a mix of machine and paper balloting from Oct. 19 to Oct. 31.

Any voter in the county will be able to cast a ballot at the arena before the Nov. 3 election, said Anna Meyerhoff, the county’s central services manager, who has been on election duty while Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman continues her treatment for cancer.

Mega-voting centers are cropping up in arenas and convention centers across the country in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and social justice issues.

Most of those buildings, ordinarily filled with thousands of cheering sports and music fans, have been virtually idle since the pandemic reached American shores.

in this state are all for whatever makes voting easier and possible for all people.

As for mail in this quote was in the paper the other day,

"Sen. Elaine Bowers, R-Concordia, said she even used the practice while casting her primary election ballot in Cloud County.

Bowers, chair of the Senate Ethics, Elections and Local Government Committee, said the practice was a boon for those in rural areas, such as herself, and that it gave voters more confidence in the elections process because they could see the ballot being deposited."

One thing good I can say about how we vote here is that everyone wants everyone to be able to vote, no matter how we get it done. For a state like this is seems unlikely that a joker/jerk like Kobach could be from here but I think we may be done with him now. Fingers crossed on that one.
