Swing votes.
Manchin represents red-leaning WV, he is not running again in 2024, he may run for governor, but he will be key here.

(4,845 posts)1. But Romney alone isn't enough to stop the senate.... they have 53 votes.
That means we need 4 republican votes. And 3 out of the 4 are Democrats.

(755 posts)4. Collins....if she survives reelection and maybe Portman
I see Portman retiring in 2022

(755 posts)3. Manchin doesn't like DC. He almost left D.C. in 2016 and 2018
It was surprising when he won reelection in 2018 despite voting for Kavanaugh.
Manchin will run for governor in 2024, but his vote to convict and remove Trump may harm him
But he will be someone to watch

No matter how conservative they are they would hold the line on this....its Romney, Collins, Murkowski, etc
