"May you live in interesting times."

I thought that was some ancient Chinese proverb, but apparently it isn't. I just did a little Googling and it sounds like it is much more recent and might even be a Chinese curse that could be restated as, "May you experience much disorder and trouble in your life."

In any event, whatever its origin and/or meaning, I keep thinking it's exquisitely applicable to the year 2020. Even more so since a certain event that just transpired a few hours ago. Rest in peace, RBG. But I do wish you had retired in 2013, near the beginning of Obama's second term. Or better yet, early in 2009, when the Democrats also had a big Senate majority.
