Obviously that can be changed but a lot of senators who are battling close reelections, they might not want to deal with this before the election. But go for it, I guess. Ram through a Supreme Court justice less than two months before an election.

(34,857 posts)If a few of 'em in tough reelections bind together and say, "if you do this before the election, therefore monopolizing our time instead of letting us recess to go home and campaign, we're voting no on any nominee..." he might not have no choice.

(31,261 posts)to loose with a filabuster or other delaying tactic, in particular if Democrats will be taking over the Senate or there will be a tie with Biden/Harris elected. We must simply vote and not let our vote be discarded by BS tactics, if we do that, we get the upper hand.
