1/Trump Supporters continue to protest at the #EarlyVoteVA site in Fairfax VA. They have to move voters inside because they are blocking the site for voters
2/As you can see here they are blocking the entrance to the voting site. #EarlyVoting #VA #FairFax
3/Update: Most of the #MAGA Supporters cleared out when extra security came to monitor the voting site.

What a country we live in where some think they have the right to vote, but others don't.

(5,126 posts)The Trump campaign/RNC plan to suppress the vote in heavily Dem precincts through long lines and voter intimidation. THIS is why they keep arguing for in-person voting while sending mailings and text messages to Republicans, encouraging THEM to vote by mail.

(10,667 posts)Just off the top of my head:
No campaigning or campaign materials within some distance of any polling place
No obstruction of voting
No intimidation of voters
The great thing about early voting is our side gets to see what they are up to early on and gear up the response in the courts and on the ground.

(28,940 posts)Physically blocking the entrance to a polling place comes under the Voter Intimidation Act 18 USC, Title 18-594.

(21,346 posts)We need to put a video of this into a Biden ad NOW. Undercut them and expose them so that when Trump and other R candidates go to court with challenges after they lose, they will have zero credibility.
We could also use some Woodward/Bernstein type investigative reporting to reveal who has something on several appointees and elected politicians, what it is, and how it is being used. Even just one such revelation would be a tremendous help in saving the republic by opening people's eyes to what is happening.

(15,067 posts)When I lived there, I was a Poll Inspector for many years. Other states have different distance requirements. Some are 50 feet.
Now I'm in Oregon and the only electioneering we have to worry about is if I wear my "Nevertheless she Persisted" T-shirt while we sit at the kitchen table and fill out our ballots.

They're demonstrating. That's their right. This is especially true in Fairfax Country, home of the person who wrote the First Amendment, and location of the university named after him.
Go ahead and alert. It won't be the first time.

(44,972 posts)How do they have a right to demonstrate in there? They were blocking the entrance and officials made them move.

(57,319 posts)If they blocked the entrance to the building, then someone should come up with video of that. I haven't seen it yet.
It's a huge plaza. It would take more people than are in the video to fill it.
Thanks.

(57,319 posts)I still don't see the point. Don't Trump supporters vote early? Granted, there aren't too many Trump supporters in Fairfax County, but there must be some wanting to vote early.
I'm in Alexandria. I just handed my ballot application to the letter carrier an hour ago. I'll be turning in the actual ballot itself in person. I'll take a dim view of anyone who tries to keep me from doing that.
