This is like the James COMEY event of 2016, where he announced a re-opened investigation into Hillary's e-mails a few weeks before the election. When he called it off a few days later, the damage had been done.

Unless you're aware of some loophole no one else is, there's not much stopping McConnell at this point. The only chance is that he can't get enough votes, but there's little reason to believe this will be any different than Kavanaugh.

I agree that we should put up a fight because the whole process is a hypocritical joke and we need to be on record against it, but there seems to be little in the way.

12. Obama made the biggest mistake of his Presidency when he didn't

fight for Merrick Garland. He should have been out there every single day pointing out how the Senate was refusing to do its job. He, and every other Democrat out there, should have been naming the many times a justice was confirmed during the last year of a Presidency. He rolled over without a fight, and we're still paying for it.
