Antidepressants don't seem to do anything for me, well at least the three I've tried. I've been trying the therapy thing. Done 3 sessions so far. Still uncertain where it is going to go and if I'm even accomplishing anything doing it. I suppose it is too early to judge.

You have a lot on your plate, the situation with your sister, now Ginsberg. It is great that your company offers such an important benefit.

I fear it is not long.

She was holding on and turned 65

I think it is just a matter of time now-when she stops fighting

Talk about the good times you have shared and experienced. None of us can stop death from happening, we simply don’t have that capacity. What we can do is not fear death, and enjoy important memories while we are alive.

has kept me going. Unsolicited advice: Do some organization of/writing about what is going on, and name your priorities, if you are able. Don't sweat it if you don't, because a good therapist will help you to do this right away. It's a powerful time for therapists, learning how to keep us functioning in the most surreal of worlds. All bless these good folks.

the first thing to do is stop watching so much news. Limit yourself to one hour, at the most two a day. Do NOT get sucked into watching wall to wall coverage of things, even the death of Justice Ginsburg, as worthwhile as that may seem at the moment. Really.

monitoring is a symptom of extreme anxiety, like overthinking or worry. I don't think we could tell a very anxious person to limit their worry to an hour a day, though I have seen that advice. Six decades of compulsive monitoring, overthinking, and worry lead me to these thoughts.

Compulsive news watching creates the extreme anxiety.

I think that while I am very concerned about what's been going on in recent years, I am not losing sleep over it, I don't need meds or therapy, because I am not constantly watching the news.

Turn it off and read a book or two.

However, I will say that someone who needs meds or therapy is doing the right thing in getting them.

I limit to just DU and a few other news sites. Loved to watch msnbc but it was repeat of the important things that I already read and know.i cut it out and don’t miss it.

I also got the Calm app and a coloring app. I am working on the mediation (I am not very good at it yet) and listen to the sleep stories at nights. I also take a bath. I bought a massager off of Amazon and it’s very nice too. I’ve found trying new things which are relaxing are the best gifts.

Be good to yourself and all the best!
