Corrupt as hell maneuver.

All of that confidential information.handed right over to the already-profitable companies.

And 33% profit probably is net of direct costs, not burdened by the tremendous non recurring investments of the postal service.

As things are, both Amazon and the USPS are doing well on the deal. Amazon gets a little bigger cut of shipping revenue, and the USPS gets paid well for moving some packaged down a few streets to the buyer’s mailbox. Amazon depots packages that the USPS finishes delivery on to USPS post offices, making final delivery simple for the USPS. The whole thing is a rare example of win-win, that is why President Obama didn’t mess with it.
