The Libertarians and Greens are useful tools, and Jill Stein herself seems to be very knowing of what she did. Her campaign targeted specific weak spots and shaved off just enough votes for Hillary to lose the Electoral College prize in those states. The margin was astounding in its exactitude.

Leftish voters who just couldn’t stomach Hillary after 30 years of lies aimed at her by the RW proved their purity and progressive bona fides by voting 3rd party. So yes, bad actors did bad things, but actual American voters played their part.

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 3 million over Trump, but lost the EC and thus the WH. The popular vote tells me the majority of Americans did NOT want Trump.

Two big differences between '16 and now; one, in '16 both candidates were not popular. Thats a fact told by many polls. Two, trump NOW has shown who he really is. A lot of trump voters only knew trump the TV star. Now they know the REAL trump. And some of them dont like what they see

Polls schmolls.

Gods help us, because we are up against worse this time. Russia is still deep into all 50 states’ voter data and election systems. DeJoy has destroyed the USPS and isn’t going to put it back together. Trump may have lost a few voters, but the rest are cultists with guns. There’s more, but I’m not trying to make anyone despair and pull their blankets over their head.

Resist. GOTV. Never surrender.

Apocalypse Watch by Robert Ludlum. A long novel that one can't fail to see parallels to today. It was almost made into a movie I seem to remember reading, but they said the Great Recession intervened. Or perhaps the subject was too hot to handle. The usual Ludlum - global conspiraces of elites and terrorists, this time penetrating our government too.

And the media. Why? Because she is a bright, capable woman who dared to have ambitions reserved for men in this country and because she refused to bow under the pressure to conform to the sweet little housewife image. She dared to use her brain, so Republicans could not allow her to go unscathed. Books full of lies have been written about this woman. Every conspiracy theory imaginable has been created around her years in public life. No other woman has been so vilified, and again I ask why? Republicans created a false image of a crooked, grasping woman with corrupt intentions. And the media helped.

I’m so tired Of the media using euphemisms, like “conservative,” to describe abhorrent attitudes toward women and minorities. Amy Johnson, one of the speakers at the RNC convention lied about late-term abortions, describing them as women delivering live babies and then murdering. That isn’t conservative, that’s sick. She has also written that every household should have only one vote and the man should decide who to vote for. That isn’t conservative, it’s Christian radicalism that never gets called out by the media. Using the word conservative excuses all kinds of rabid behavior and attitudes, including white supremacy.

That is the Republican world, and it’s killing the US. They are making this a country that I no longer even want to live in. Which is why I will vote and will encourage everyone I know to vote. This is our last chance.

They are actively working toward a return to the Dark Ages for women and a religion-based government. Slick Republican operatives have successfully manipulated them for their own political ends. And the mainstream media, with their toxic bothsiderism has given them all a pass.

Posting in response to overall vibe of this thread.

What are y’all trying to accomplish by re-litigating ‘16 when we’re FORTY-FOUR days out from ‘20?

I mean, are y’all that resigned to defeat or confident of victory, because certainly no one who thinks we’ve got work to do should be participating in this nonsense. Either get to work or get out the way with crap like this.
