(31,261 posts)If those idiots would just wear a face covering when in public and social distance when in bars, the economy would be back to normal. China will likely report that this quarter beat the comparable quarter in 2019, according to an article posted here on DU. The Publix Supermarket that I shop at is a case in point. It took 3-4 months to require masks, during the meantime it marked isles one way and set social distance marks on the floor. It had business, but I could easily find a parking space near the entrance. Then it set a mask requirement 3-4 months ago. The place seemed to have gotten busier and busier. On a recent visit, I had a hard time finding parking and parked well away from the entrance in the only spot that I could find. When I got inside, the place was real busy, the directional isle markers had been removed so a person could move around as desired. Social distancing markers were still in place near registers. After moving around and by other mask wearing people, I had gotten what I wanted, I seldom have to wait in the checkout line long there, but on the most recent visit, I did have to wait, there were lines at every register. Once I got checked out, I noticed that other people in the line I went through were waiting. All that doesnt sound like economic problems for that store.

(67,104 posts)party, not a show of manly-man strength. FFS, it's deadly ... just how many examples do they need of people dying. It's not some damn fantasy.

(64,998 posts)Is that something this guy put on his feed, or is that the Holler putting that there?
I don't know where the 0.1% death rate number comes from. We're not past 0.063% on a whole population basis, but we're around 3% deaths per case.
So, that 0.1 is a made up number.

(14,918 posts)You can see that if you click on it. Of course it's a made-up number. If he had paid attention to facts and accurate statistics from legitimate sources, he wouldn't have been a covid-denier. FYI, the Tennessee Holler is a progressive site and would no more be putting out disinformation and unsourced junk numbers than DU would. They were in this instance reporting Tenpenny's history of covidiocy.

(2,635 posts)Vice Mayor Jim Shulman said on Sunday that Tenpenny was hospitalized for more than a month and was placed on a ventilator in early September. He had died overnight, the Tennessean reported.
He also shared a video from a disgraced Texas doctor who shared dangerous theories about the virus, including linking its cause to demons, which Facebook flagged as partly false information, NBC News noted. The former council member made more than a dozen posts stating or sharing COVID-19 disinformation, NBC reported.
