it was touch and go there for a while. I'm glad he's still alive and delighting us with stories.

exactly one year before the incident. We were visiting a friend at Kezar Lake, and she lived next door. One day, we followed our friend into town in the late afternoon on the hottest day of the year, and we saw a strange disheveled man dressed in long pants, long sleeved flannel shirt, and a book (or journal) under his arm, walking along the shoulder of the road. When we got into town, our friend said, chuckling, "Did you see that chainsaw massacre guy? That was Stephan King".

My memory of seeing him is still vivid in my mind, and I treasure it.

I've been reading your books, and being scared, since 1974!! Carrie, I think. But I was rooting for her! 'SALEM'S LOT scared the bejeesus out of me! I've loved them all over the years.
