I wonder how many of the 330,000,000 Americans know someone who died from the virus?

(25,839 posts)As large a number as 200,000 is, in a population of some 330,000,000 is .06%, six tenths of one percent.
I know one person who probably died from Covid, although I'm not entirely certain it was diagnosed as such. I know several other people who have been sick with it, including one man who is a long-hauler, over 100 days at this point.
That so many people don't know anyone who died from it is why so many people can think this virus isn't very serious, or even a downright hoax.
