If you peruse my posts over the past year, I have made an occasional OP on this subject observation. My observation hasn't changed, but the chips are piling up on both sides in a escalating fashion - it is the pot of our lifetime and there are only 2 forces left playing this ultimate poker game.

One force is for continuing the American experiment - supporting immigration, diversity, and all lives matter {but none do if Black Lives don't}. The other force is looking to transform us into a wholly owned subsidiary of the Global Crime Syndicate, Ltd, headed by Putin.

That's the stakes and it's getting more obvious every day.

I know Moscow Mitch (Russian election $) and Donald Trump (personal wealth) motivations to commit treason, but I still don't know what's motivating Barr. I know he believe's in the Imperial Presidency....but he has to know that he is part of this conspiracy to destroy our way of life.

But why? Is he compromised in ways not known? Blackmailed? Simply, threatened? I would not put this past Putin/Trump....

Think how scary it was to rise up against the British and their Torrey allies in pre-revolutionary America. Those patriots had balls, though. Do our leaders have balls like that in this moment? Cause we’ve got lots of Johnny’s out there in every community, organizing, donating, working hard.

We need our leaders today to show the same fortitude. The same grit. The same willingness to fight hard. Hard!

Tonight I’ve heard leaders on our side put the fight in terms of “what the American people want.” And, “we need to defeat them at the ballot box.”

True. True, what you said.

But we want our leaders to lead. It’s not good enough to say, “you Democrats and progressives can go out there and win this thing” (Which I think we can do). What leaders need to do is say, “when we win, we’re going to kick your ass in these specific ways. Count on it.”

Who else is up for some trash talking from our side, and from the players that count? I think that would fire a lot more people up than more moderate language ever will. I’m guessing that leaders speechifying under The Liberty Tree in towns all around the original colonies were some pretty badass trash talkers—otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten this far.

what next? I can deal with the SC issue if we win the Senate and WH....but if the election is thrown, all bets are off.

15. I think you're absolutely right!

Repubs think Democrats are wusses. And, over the past several years, they HAVE been. Time to kick butt and surprise their asses by being just as kick-ass as the republicans. That's what you do with bullies -- stand up to them and give them "what for". Show you're not afraid to call them out publicly for what they are and what they stand for, which is anathema to the USA dream.

We all -- outside the borders -- are counting on, and fervently hoping for -- it.

In all those melodramas, the evil Snidely Whiplash twisted and turned and kept one on the edge of their seat hoping that the evil he planned would be prevented at the last minute. And at the last minute sure 'nuff, Dudley Do-Right saved the day.

Every time we think now surely we have Trump in a vise grip somehow up until now he twists out and does another dastardly deed. But good people are on his trail. The Manhattan D.A. Steve Schultz and The Lincoln Project. Joe and Kamala. Many, many investigative reporters like David Fahrenthold at the Washington Post.

I have hope.

A couple of times recently I was reminded how important it is to do things good for my heart, mind and body–I've been intensely hunched over a keyboard much too much the past couple of months.

I need a good transfusion of Molly Ivins' attitude right now. "So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it."
