10. I majored in voice & piano in college; these days I have a very non-musical job

in a children's hospital. As a consequence of never knowing whether I'm taking SARS-CoV-2 out of the hospital with me when I leave work, and knowing that singing is an action which spreads the virus is a rather dramatic fashion, I've not sung so much as a phrase since February. (I also have a graduate degree in immunology and a postdoc in molecular virology, so even *I* recognized early on that the virus is uniquely infectious and dangerous.)

thinking about this today...it is even more important to remember what Covid has wrought on our kids....they’re missing so much in their lives that won’t be made up for. They’re seeing people die all around them. They’re witnessing a level of stress and pain that will be with them their whole lives. Kids can also be incredibly resilient. As a parent, I am working hard to model patience and resilience for my son. This is a beautiful video. Thank you.

You’re correct, children are resilient but I firmly believe they will follow the lead of the adults in their lives. If parents are positive and creative, our children will learn compassion and love from this. I feel for the children living with hate in their home, they’re going to have a harder time coping for the long haul.
