I was born in Cuba under Castro, so I know what a dictator looks like. Donald Trump is on his way, and we have to stop him.
Nací en Cuba bajo Castro, así que sé cómo es un dictador. Donald Trump está en camino y tenemos que detenerlo
This should be playing on TV/internet/radio and printed in Spanish language newspapers all over Miami and in Texas and in South Carolina (12% hispanic) and in New York and in .
'We're not gonna be manipulated.' Cracks form in Trump's Cuban-American base
"From the passenger seat of a Mercedes-Benz idling in the heart of Americas Cuban exile community, George Marrero explained Saturday why he would not vote again for President Donald Trump.
This country has been abused for the last four years, the retired Coral Gables police officer said while waiting for the start of a Cubanos con Biden caravan in the majority-Cuban city of Hialeah. [Democratic presidential nominee] Joe Biden is going to bring back like hes said the soul of America. Its been lost.
Amid evidence that Trump has significantly expanded his support among Miami-Dades traditionally conservative Cuban exile community, a counter-movement is afoot to show that there are thousands of Cuban-Americans in Florida who believe the president does not have their best interests at heart....
I used to be middle class. Now Im down at the bottom, she said. I was born in Cuba under Castro, so I know what a dictator looks like. Donald Trump is on his way, and we have to stop him.

(15,768 posts)I really believe he will just do to this and winning Florida. I sincerely predict Amy Barrett is out of luck. Trump will chose judge Lagoa. During Hispanic Heritage Month too. Trump has no shame. Everything to him is political.

(2,770 posts)If you read this article it is clear Trump still owns the loyalty of the majority of Miamis Cuban community. I think he will choose Lagoa. I dont think it will give him a boost. He already has the votes of those this may make proud.

(732 posts)I speak as a woman. Just putting a woman on the court is not the same a putting a woman on the court who holds women's rights as a tenet of how they apply the law. A pandering appointment, see Clarence Thomas, is not a sure fire way to garner votes.

Neither of them understand why Cubans are and vote they way they do. My Cuban friend Maria from SoCal is as big a trumper as anyone. Her and her husband(Israeli) have isolated themselves in this bubble of racism and hate. They don't socialize with anyone anymore. It's beyond puzzling. Thankfully their kids are all huge Dems.

(53,061 posts)Under the "dry foot/wet foot" policy every Cuban arriving on US soil automatically qualifies for refugee status.
awesomerwb1
(4,267 posts)And that makes the whole thing even more puzzling when it comes to immigration because Cubans were/are the lucky ones and instead of advocating for others who may be in the same shoes as their Cuban born parents/grandparents were at one time, they are anti-immigration. It's very selfish. I got mine but you shouldn't get yours.

(2,065 posts)Entonces, su refugio desde Fidel Castro en Cuba no significara absolutamente NADA!
Why do you want to vote for a dictator like Donald Trump? Then your fleeing Fidel Castro in Cuba will mean absolutely nothing!
That's my message to the Cubanos in south Florida.

Trump has been doing business in Castro's Cuba since 2008 now how is that going
to go over with the Cuban Americans in Florida?

(20,998 posts)...This man is NOT what he seems. He is an arch-racist and absolutely despises anyone of color, and that includes Cubanos, Latinos, Dominicans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans. You are nothing but a needed vote to tRump*. He will lie. He will cheat. He will steal. He will make Fidel Castro look like Mr. Rogers.
