Does this mean we need only one more vote?

(51,567 posts)This gives them time for citizens to get pissed off and go after the GOP senators on ACA repeal and Kelly to hopefully win.

(19,264 posts)So any vote prior to that it would be moot. If for some reason Mitch can't pull it off before then this might matter but otherwise it won't.
Plus even with Kelly and a vote after Nov 20th Moscow Mitch still has 52. He can lose two more and still make it 50/50 with Pence casting the tie.

All he wants now is to win the election. He might hold this nomination hostage to get more people to vote for him.
Don't know if it will work. I imagine everyone who wants some RW justice is already voting for Trump.

(1,493 posts)the Dems. Which gets me back to scratching my head about if Kelly wins AZ he could/would upset this process somehow.
Statistical
(19,264 posts)a) Mitch waited until after Kelly was seated
b) there were enough Republican defections that it made Kelly the critical vote
I don't think either will happen. It will be held prior to Kelly being seated and there will be zero (or at most one) Republican defection meaning Mitch has 52 votes in favor and confirmation happens.
