I don’t think DC can become a state or even give them Senators. It violates the Constitution clause that the federal capital needs to be separate from the states.

Go for it.

Break the panhandle off of Florida, that would be awesome.
Cut Texas down the middle and have a big red state and a big blue state where Austin is.
Lets add every territory we have.
Lets cut California in to 3 big blue states.
