(5,042 posts)We can "lose" (massive cheating expected) Pennsylvania but offset it by winning NC.

(8,703 posts)Requested ballot by mail, the ballot came Sept3rd as promised. You have to have a witness, so my daughter and I filled out our ballots yesterday. We each signed as witness for the other. Acceptable as/per board of elections. I went to the precinct today and hand delivered, mine AND my daughters. Again, this is allowed with next of kin. She works 12 hour shifts in ICU. No lines, and on the other side of the building where voting is ongoing so you did not even need to see a trumper. Mask required. Sanitizer everywhere, 6 feet distancing enforced. You can trace you Ballot ASAP online through the BOE website. Dem headquarters said all early ballots will be counted first on Election Day. Very easy as it should be. And voting with this much ease in a state that gave the World Meadows and Tillis. Makes me think those 2 embarrassments have pushed even NC to fix this state and end idiocracy. Go VOTE.

(8,703 posts)I had to ride cross county today to pay propane bill. Way too many Trump signs and fat men in big trucks with trump flags and American flags, full size flapping like his hair Piece in a tropical storm. Makes me so damn furious to get out away from my woods And have to see FreeDumb. But, I did see Biden Harris signs in places I would consider hard Trump establishments. I do see a lot of mask wearing most places, still the few idiots, but I have to believe that large majority of maskers, have had enough of the murderer in Chief. Cheers, and safe voting experience to you.

(14,674 posts)All of these court decisions, and state laws passed since march, all seem to hinge on ballots postmarked by a specific date.
What if the post office just doesn't stamp them? Woops?
We need these groups to ask for an emergency change to these orders that allows states to count the ballots if they are delivered without postmarks.
I don't doubt for a nanosecond that they will somehow remove postal stamps the week before election day (in addition to just losing them).

This can create quite a chaotic clusterfuck, which is exactly what the assholes are seeking.

(21,733 posts)They even took away the Hand Stamps from the Window Clerks, where you used to be able to take an envelope to the Window and the Clerk would postmark it in your presence.
The new procedure is to rely on postmarks to be applied at Processing Plants, but the application is haphazard. Many, many envelopes that should be postmarked are not. And lots of local mail does not even go to the Processing Plant.

(9,958 posts)I was just watching Nicole Wallace, and one part of the discussion focused on the tactics Trump is planning for election day. One of the scariest was sending federal marshals to states like Pennsylvania, and probably NC, to impound all ballots uncounted by the close of the polls on election day. Once impounded, those ballots will never be seen again. Can state officials prevent federal marshals from taking ballots?

(6,836 posts)That always happens; there are always ballots received by election day which don't get counted by the end of the day
Ballots not received by Election Day might be an issue; however, since the Constitution leaves it to states to administer elections, if the state has approved it, it should be fine.

(14,674 posts)And scotus will let them. Roberts vote won't even help.
Don't assume the old rules apply. They don't.
Get people to vote as early as possible, dropping off ballots if possible. Don't let them wait till the last minute.
This might be the last election this country has that has a chance to mean something. After this they gop/trump machinery will hand pick candidates on both sides.
