(7,365 posts)Is not someone I revere, but he actually did some good things and was generally an honorable guy.
We've often lamented that Republicans of the 1970s would likely be Democrats today. I don't think McCain would be, but the rate the Republic Party is going I think if we asked that question again in 10 years then we'd probably say, "yea McCain would be a Democrat today", albeit a moderate Dem, which I have no issue with moderates in the party (though I am certainly Liberal and damn fucking proud of that).

"Cindy McCain is going to bat for Joe Biden, lending her voice to a video set to air during Tuesday nights Democratic National Convention programming focused on Bidens close friendship with her late husband, Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
Shes just the latest Republican to join in the convention, after a number of notable GOP former elected officials including former Ohio Gov. John Kasich endorsed the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee on Monday night. Its a continuation of a major theme that Democrats have pushed through the first night of the convention an effort to broaden the partys appeal to occasional Republicans and disaffected Trump voters.
In an advance clip from the video shared with The Associated Press, Cindy McCain talks about how Biden, then a Delaware senator, met her husband when John McCain was assigned to be a military aide for him on a trip overseas. The two became friends, and the families would gather for picnics in the Bidens backyard.
....
But while Meghan suggested in April shed be voting for Biden, Cindy has pointedly stayed out of the presidential race. In April of last year, amid rumors that the McCains would wade into the election in support of Biden, Cindy McCain tweeted that Biden is a wonderful man and a dear friend of the McCain family.
However, she added at the time, I have no intention of getting involved in presidential politics.....(more)

(14,173 posts)Her brain must already be held together with glue. How she can defend the Republican party and scoff at anti-Trumpers and Democrats and at the same time expressing her distaste of the man himself? She must know that voting for the Republican party is directly related to Trump having another 4 years no?
She is one confused celebrity.
