Polls show Biden highly competitive in red states. A landslide and a close race are both easy to imagine.Thats a genuine possibility. Were all understandably focused on the states likeliest to decide the election, like Pennsylvania and Florida. Those states remain close enough that Mr. Trump remains competitive. But states like Texas, Georgia, Ohio and Iowa also remain very competitive. In fact, theyre even closer than Florida or Pennsylvania so close that a Biden landslide is just as real a possibility as a Trump victory.
Heres a different way to think about it: If Mr. Biden outperformed todays polls by just two points, he would be declared the winner early on election night. Florida would be called by around 8 p.m., and Texas could be the state that makes Mr. Biden the president-elect. (Yes, Texas). Hed have a good shot at the largest electoral vote landslide since 1988.

And though I'd like to believe it will happen, I don't see us adding more Justices.

(32,754 posts)MHO ..we have no choice. The pukes will run to the courts with every law we pass no matter how fair or air tight. What good will it do to work to pass laws when they will be immediately undone? To say nothing of the court system weighted heavily against any balance of power. After all, this whole election is about undoing the unfair balance of power in this country.

(10,422 posts)I have a feeling that a Deep Southern state - possible Georgia or even Alabama - will be a blue surprise when this is all over with. The reason will be COVID - both states have horrible outbreaks and their governors don't give a shit. There's a lot of people out there that will say they're voting for 45 in front of their family and friends, but will vote for Biden once they get into the voting booth.
