Lately, almost all my eBay orders are being shipped by DHL rather than USPS -- anyone know why ?

Was this requested by the USPS ? Is this to lighten the load on USPS, or was a kickback involved ?

Was this the result of a decision of eBay, to offer special rates through DHL ?

Was this due to a special offer made by DHL ?

Was this a choice by the sellers ?

Anyone know anything ? Especially anyone who sells on eBay ?

Customer complaints and issuing refunds these are a currently a safer choice. I run a small business and the time, headaches and customer Dissatisfaction, we have changed to UPS for domestic and DHL for international. The shipping costs are 3x more but I would rather take that hit and hope and pray President Biden will correct this deliberate destruction of our vital resource.

It started in May and became not viable in July. We still have international orders stuck in Los Angles since July.

I bought a small electronics part that was shipped USPS from Los Angeles area on September 2 and still has not arrived at my home in Miami. It finally left Los Angeles after two weeks and now has been lounging in Atlanta for several days

This is the third time I've had ridiculous delays on small items shipped USPS from California. Every other area has been slower but reasonable.

Most shippers have notices on their Web pages that deliveries my be slowed by wildfires, as well as by flooding in the SE -- and something else, forgot what. But bad things came in threes for sure.

I sell some stuff on eBay, and I noticed they're encouraging sellers to consider using FedEx or UPS for shipping because of the slowdown at USPS. I didn't see DHL as an option, though. Isn't that for international shipping?

I know they do offer international shipping (the D is for Deutsche, it's based in Germany).

There are a lot of buyers who insist on blaming sellers for slow shipping and give them low ratings because of it. Let's face it, the public can be impatient and obnoxiously quick to jump to (often wrong) conclusions.

Go check out the forums on eBay and see the sellers complain about it, it's frustrating for them.

Hope this helps.

.

Before you go somewhere else, send a Question to the seller if they use USPS.

When they say no, say no thanks.

I imagine the shippers look at ETAs, probably have seen enough disgruntled customers to know how long USPS has things delayed right now, so who can blame them for going to DHL, FedEx or UPS?
