I am still digesting but I think it's good we're exploring so we can act in advance of theft.

My husband thought I was overreacting. (He now admits I was right.) And, now here we are. I’m just hoping there actually is a God that is all about love and Trump will be struck by lightning. I feel helpless.

Be informed.
Think ahead.
Don't take outcomes for granted; uttering threats about seizing power is NOT a coup; it's the threat of one.

We the people still possess the ultimate power.

You’ve been sucked into a media hype story. It happens. Best bet is to step away and take a breath and think of ways you can help contribute to winning the election, whether that’s volunteering, donating etc. Action is a cure for fear.

There are plenty of knowledgeable posters here that have tried to lay out just how improbable impossible what he’s suggesting is.

I’ve posted links with SCOTUS rulings..

This was such media hype. Fine if they want to report it good..could they have prefaced it with something down to earth?

So, the guy wants to be a dictator, we know that. Think SCOTUS is going to go along with that?
He wants the ballots to all go away so there’s no transition, just a continuation..again, think SCOTUS is going to go along with that?

Not talking about this OP but Many of the people pushing this, including one poster who claims to be from a swing state, WANT this to happen. They WANT him to try and steal it more than they want a clean win for Biden.

When you actively discourage people from voting, which I believe is a violation of the TOS, you are up to no good. That this person, and several others, have been allowed to spam post their defeatist twaddle, as if they have some remote idea of what they are talking about, is appalling.

And on edit: I’ve seen your efforts and applaud them. It’s nice to know not everyone shits their pants when Trump says boo.

where States are only required to produce electors by a certain date. How they determine those electors can vary by state. In Bush v Gore SCOTUS allowed the Florida legislature to choose its electors, superseding the Florida State Supreme Court ruling to count the votes.

Federal law DOES require the states to produce Certificates of Ascertainment where names of electors chosen by voters along with the number of votes they receive are required to be listed and certified.

If Republican controlled legislatures challenge the mail-in ballots received in swing states, this is where there could be trouble.

Pennsylvania is already causing problems:

tonight that were going over the Atlantic article I read because my day was already on edge from having read it.

It propelled me to write and address more GOTV letters than I had planned, so it was productive time. And the wine helped

Trump has been saying out loud over the past 2 days that he will seize the ballots, nullify the election, get “his” Supreme Court to endorse it. He has said this multiple times now. He means it.

Sometimes, I am really glad I don't get cable television. I don't think I would be able to handle the drama.
