Remember in The Wizard of Oz

when Dorothy and the crew were standing outside the curtain talking to the wizard? And they were all shaking in fear because the wizard was mean and scary and had a big loud booming voice?

And then Tojo or Toto or whatever the hell that dog's name was went around back and opened the curtain and it revealed that the wizard was just a little old man with no power and his booming voice was due to him talking over a loudspeaker?

I think I have the details right, or close.

Well, compare that to Trump and what is happening now.

Don't worry about this fucker. He's a coward, everything (literally) that he says is bullshit, his brain is mush, he has no idea what he is saying half of the time, he's getting worse each day, he's a horrible slimey motherfucker, his kids are scumbags, his wife is a scumbag, deep down he knows he's a piece of shit, he needs uppers just to get through the day, and he's scared shitless because he knows there is a real good chance he's going to jail on state charges. Prosecutors in NYS don't need Viagra, because they are already getting 4 hour boners just by counting down the days until January 20th.

The curtain is going to get pulled back.

the lies and corruption have been cascading in real time all along. Certainly republicans in congress see this. They just look the other way because of their thirst for power.

I agree with other people who say the curtain was drawn back long ago. Dorothy had the courage, brains, and heart to not hesitate calling out the fake wizard.

Everyone knew he was a scumbag--for over 40 years. The problem isn't him. It's his enablers, especially Neutered Dog Sack McConnell. Opening a curtain is not going rid us of these criminals. It's going to take a tornado dropping a house on them. Better hope it starts getting really stormy really soon...

Biden will win.

Favored to win the Senate.

We'll keep the House.

Assuming all of this comes to fruition, there will be some weeping and gnashing of teeth by the right.

And then existing policies will change, and new policies will be created.

Then the temperature of the country will go from hot, to luke warm, to room temperature.

Then the hardcore racists will crawl back into their holes until some year when it is safe for them to come out again, or maybe...

The Trump regime will become a distant and bitter memory that most of the country will look back upon in disgust...because they now remember what normality feels like.

The white supremacy portion of the population who voted for Trump will always be here, they will never go away. Sure, they will die off, but they teach their children well, and they will continue on, only now they will be in an even greater semi-underground state because my gut feeling is that a good portion of the people who voted for Trump did so on a "maybe he will work out, let's give him a try" basis. I think the majority of Trump supporters are supreme assholes who relish an authoritarian government, but that does not represent all of them. I can see this anecdotally...I'm seeing more and more reports of previous Trump voters who are coming to grips with reality and realizing that they were fooled. As a result, I think his base will shrink in numbers by a good amount.

Biden and Harris will turn down the temperature, and if we get the Senate, look out, because it's going to be balls to the wall reformative change.

Between today and Jan 20 is probably going to be the toughest road that we as adults collectively will ever experience in this country, but we'll get through it. And he will be gone.

Of course I could be wrong, but I choose to look at it as above. If I'm wrong, then we will despair. Frankly, the alternative is unthinkable.

but getting rid of as many of these assholes that we can in the upcoming election is as close to a tornado dropping a house on them as we can get right now. This kind of defeatism isn't going to get us that.
