I copied and pasted a job application from the Louisville Ky Fed jobs web site. One of the first jobs that came up was for Postal Clerk. (1,823 posts)You need to have been a resident of the US or one if its territories for the last 5 years for expedited background check purposes unless you fall into one of the exception classes listed. This is nationwide not just Kentucky.

(3,427 posts)They're saying they won't be able to do a complete background check if you lived outside the country and don't fall into one of the listed categories. You have to have been affiliated with an organization that they can easily contact to verify your background. That would include U.S.-based churches.
