... with expanding the SC, ending filibuster, and anything else lethal, they can't say it. They just can't. Any threats will be used as a weapon against them for the next month, so I'm glad they've stopped talking about it.

So now it's the "we're nicer than them" phase. When they put that wingnut freak on the court, and we win the Senate, keep the House, and have a decent president, they will be justified in going all out, which I think they will.

For now? Look naive. It worked with Clinton's impeachment. That was their strategy, they met and made that decision - make those nasty f*cks look just like what they are - nasty f*cks. Don't go negative, don't bash and threaten. It worked, gave Clinton a 70% approval rating right while Monica testified, and they didn't dare convict.

Senate Democrats have no magical tool to block this vote. The best we can do is to point out how dishonest and unethical the Senate republicans are acting and to vote as many out as possible. Booker is setting this argument up. One piece of evidence as to how effective public outrage at Senate republicans have been is the amount of contributions made to Senate Democratic candidates.

I like MJ Hegar and contributed to her and voted for her during the primaries even though I had a number of friends who are now working with me on forming the Texas Democratic Lawyers Association were supporting MJ's opponent. I am seeing some polling that MJ has a chance and this stunt with the SCOTUS seat may hurt Cornyn.

Again, do you have a better idea? If so what is this better idea?

The GOP's sense of decency is as real as a pink unicorn.

Doesn't he realize that when McCarthy was asked, "at long last, have you left no sense of decency?" that the correct answer was "NO?"

That was June 9th, 1954, and the answer to that same question, when put to today's roster of Republican Senators and Representatives is a resounding "NO! We are burdened by no such thing, and we're proud of it!"

They really are, too. This is what they have come to. We are fooling ourselves if we see things differently.
