Trump has stated that he deserves a third term in office because of how badly he was treated during his first four-year term.
If it were true that a president deserved additional years in office based on how badly he was treated, we wouldn’t be hearing from Trump right now – because Barack Obama would still be president. He’d be serving the additional terms he deserves after the GOP’s pronouncements that they would work against him on every issue, every initiative – without regard to whether those initiatives were for the betterment of the American people and our democracy.
If ‘extra terms’ were awarded to presidents who had been ill-treated, marginalized, disrespected, and blatantly lied about by the opposing party, Barack Obama would die in office as a very old man.
