I've always believed that Trump's actual base of voters were upper income people - mostly white, but other ethnicities as well - who liked the idea of tax cuts and bought into "less government interference." Many of them like their gun collections, too.

If they've had "enough" he will lose.

I know that lower-educated white people turned out for him in droves, and they're the loud ones who show up at his rallies. But running through every Republican's base is this thread of upper-income people, mostly living in suburbs, who quietly vote Republican for selfish reasons. When the election comes down to a few points, those people make up the marginal difference.

To put it another way, Trump is going to get the loud racist white vote. That's a given. But if he loses the affluent suburban crowd in key states, he will lose the election.

my hard lessons was having to interact with so many
rich white Republican bigots.

It was kind of a culture shock for me.

There are many rich people who live in my neighborhood
as well. I've seen one Black Lives Matter sign and no
Trump or Biden signs.

Austin is generally blue by a wide majority, so Biden will
do well here. As for the rest of Texas, I'm not sure. But

This is going to be won or lost in the suburbs.

Fortunately, I’ve sensed a large shift away from the shit heel there. Affluent middle and upper middle class types want stability above all. They want their life as uninterrupted as possible. Trump is the embodiment of pure chaos. I think enough of these people have truly had enough after four years.

At least they are in the part of FL where I come from. Where they once spoke perfectly understandable English, many have now adopted the most ridiculous caricature of a Southern accent imaginable. Some imitate an East Tenn speech pattern, others a more Alabama/Mississippi drawl while still others have gone more for the clipped West Virginia twang and some have even tried for a Virginia tidewater sound.

Not that there is anything wrong with a Southern accent, I'd love to sound like a Virginia Aristocrat myself. It's just that it's not their natural manner of speaking when they were growing up, that they had to consciously practice at it and most can't quite pull it off.

He is certainly not getting democrats flipping to vote for him, so that would be the only possibility. If they are of the "dixiecrat" variety, they already voted for him last time.

Apparently they are doing good with their registration drive in Florida. But are they doing as good as the democrats?

Famous last (possibly) words.... He CAN'T win legally.

I think the vote margin for Biden is going to be huge. The turd has, and will always have, his knuckledragging racist/bigot base, but he is losing some of his moneyed crowd. He has become so disgusting that many of then can no longer handle the outrageousness of his actions and words. Hell, they may even lose some of their money if we go into total collapse as a nation. They are probably on the verge of clutching their pearls.

So his only other option is to scream RIGGED, RIGGED, and hope he can manipulate the courts to his advantage. He has said he wants the courts to decide his fate.

Grew up in Whitehall- I wasn’t on the yacht club end of the spectrum either! Mr Poo’s g-ma had a little cottage out at the lake. Think they bought it in the 40s. It was just a small place but it was on the water. No dock or anything fancy. I think it was almost directly across from the amusement park. I get turned around out there! His mom and aunt sold it. Wish we’d been in a position to buy it when they did but we weren’t. I think a lot of the old owners sold and big new places built after tearing down the little old places. It’s changed so much out there. We spent many a day, and weekends out there. I loved it. We still go out (well not with covid) to Weldons and Papa Boo’s and the Copper Penny and pick up rocks to paint at Fairfield Beach.

Had seen those along with all the "Republicans for Obama/Biden" signs.

When you start seeing what you saw, it could be a sign that the area is pulling in some of the old "Obama coalition" Republicans. I generally assumed that those Republicans who were voting for the Obama/Biden ticket were not so much voting for Obama but for Biden, who was considered a "moderate".

This is why we have to GOTV - we still need to get the voters to the polls (or the mails) because our votes will mean something this time. The selfish, spoiled racists have decided to sit this one out and let Biden win. They're not going to give it to us, we still have to work for it.

So in Palm Beach Gardens we have a busy intersection where Trump cult members have gathered every Friday for years. They hold up signs for Trump. Biden folks started gathering a few months ago on Weds, being way too polite so as to not bother the Trump Fridays.

Not good enough for cult members. Last Wed. they showed up and started trouble. We were sitting at the intersection honking for Joe when they started a pushing match for prime ground. Police separated everyone.

So the cult members claim its their corner and Biden people can't be there at anytime. Public space yet that is their insane mentality.

I have lived in UA for 42 years and the strong Republican base has been eroding over the years--I live in the southern end and our precinct voted for Obama and all of UA voted for Hillary. In our part of town we have more and more younger people with families as the older residents are moving out. I have to say however that we older residents are not all Republicans and have voted for Democrats for years some of us for our whole lives.

The ENOUGH signs are from an organization called Equal UA which was formed a couple of years ago after a "Karen" incident involving a high school teacher who happened to be black who was walking his dog in the area where he lived. You can get the rest of the story on their web page.

My husband and are retired and since March I have been walking every day that I can and I walk all over south UA and the adjoining suburbs of Grandview and Marble Cliff and the vast majority of the signs I see are for Biden and also a goodly number of Black Lives Matter signs. Needless to say my daily walks cheer me up. My daughter and her family live in the north part of UA however and she tells me there are more Trump sings up there so things are not all rosy. No matter where we live we all need to vote and make sure our friends and family vote as well.
