I know in Michigan Im ready to help with one. If Barrett is the nominee, Roe v Wades days are numbered.
I am looking forward to voting on just such a proposal in MI in 2022.

(26,044 posts)With the addition of another far-right Roman Catholic to the bench, I'm predicting that they not only overturn Roe, but declare in their decision that, since "natural law" makes it self-evident that human life begins at the moment of conception, every single homicide law already on the books, state or federal, automatically applies to "the unborn." It would be binding precedent that would outlaw abortion everywhere, and there would be no way to overturn it except by constitutional amendment (which, obviously, would be virtually impossible to pass). Such a decision would also ban all oral contraceptives, IUDs, and "Plan B" instantaneously. It would be the traditionalist Roman Catholic wet-dream.
