I'm in the campaign database as a Strong Democrat. I get every piece of mail from Democrats and usually zero from Republicans. The last one I can remember was in 2004.
And now the Trump campaign is going to waste their money mailing to Strong Democrats?
Really stupid, but I hope they keep doing it.

(3,401 posts)My boss is a dick, racist and the biggest a Trump supporter I know. He has been trying to convert me for 4 years and has a new sales pitch every week, often times one a day. During the primaries I saw how most Democrats use the same web based donation page making it simple to Pledge, and register by entering your name and email. So instead of putting in my name I put in my bosses name address and email address and pledged $2000.
A few weeks later I heard him yelling at his email because Corey Booker keeps asking him for $2000!!!
That night I went to the campaign page of every Black representative and black senator in congress entering his name and pledging $2000. No one has taught him how to unsubscribe and I do believe he is now on nerve pill prescriptions.

Anyone under the age of 80 should be reasonably good with the technology.
I'm 72, and while I'm not as tech-savvy as I might be, I at least know how to unsubscribe.

Being savvy or anything takes patience, persistence And an eagerness to learn.....from my experience

(25,849 posts)How old is your boss, anyway?
I'm old enough (72) that I worked through the transition of men having secretaries and never needing to learn how to type, to men my age (back when we were all a lot younger) being able to type and then working on computers. However, some men out there still want it to be 1950.

(3,401 posts)The only child in the family business, has had secretaries and IT people so there was never a need to learn keyboarding or know how to hook up, or troubleshoot a PC. Even today an employee is required to adjust the settings on his Phone. Funny, he still uses the same personal email that he set up on Yahoo in the 90s, but that was a step up from his first AOL email.
He asked me if I get unwanted campaign junk mail or if anyone else is having the problem he is having, and I n told him that once you give out personal info on one of those sites, it will be sold to hundreds of others especially if there is money involved....but I reintegrated that it was just something that I read, I have no experience with political campaigns.

I am convinced they target demographics regardless of registration. I show up as a boomer white male so I am high on their list.
It is also probably a substitute for door to door contact. Normally that is all year long from the GOP in my suburban neighborhood, but not nearly as frequent this year due to the pandemic.
