(42,632 posts)You did say all of them. You should really edit your OP, as it is very divisive as it is now.

(54,770 posts)but I think Maher is wrong on that one.. Other than that, Maher seems positive about election.
Sanders and others did all they could to convince Maher hes wrong about trump staying.
The last part of New Rules was the hardest Ive laughed in a long time.

(54,770 posts)the end is likely close, if we vote like never before.

(38,359 posts)the videos of him resisting to leave, or being carried out,& those videos will stop him from being on shows and
from being interviewed. He won't have a following because Donald Trump will always be asked.....
...............
............."..WHY DIDN'T YOU LEAVE THE WHITE HOUSE PEACEFULLY, YOU LOST BY A LARGE MARGIN?"
and Trump will lose by a large margin..just wait and see. ..
.................... And Trump will leave peacefully or always be
asked the above question. And he will not want to answer that question, and be known as the
loser of an election who....'DID NOT LEAVE PEACEFULLY......OR ....................
THE ONLY LOSER ...ETC.........................................
Trump will leave peacefully for another reason. His friends, family & political party will insist that he
will leave peacefully & not make a scene that will hurt them all.

(54,770 posts)he wanted publicity. But then his hatred, racism, and enjoyment of saying crud that excited millions Deplorables were OK with him attracted a bunch of voters and Democrats thought we had it.
He just enjoys people listening intently to his riffs.

of that state would have to pass legislation to do that, and in states like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania if they were that brazen, the Democratic Governors of Wisconsin and Pa would veto that
Maher kept pushing to Sanders what would you do. Sanders said vote overwhelmingly so there is no question. Maher ad nausea kept pushing the question as though it was inevitable and trump wouldn't leave. Sanders gave him the anecdote to VOTE, but Maher wouldnt let it go

Trump Cant Just Refuse to Leave Office
We have a lot of things to worry about in the next eight months. This isnt one of them.

So its the morning of Jan. 20, 2021. Trump doesnt meet President-elect Joe Biden and his wife in the White House driveway, nor does he attend the inauguration on Capitol Hill. Instead, he proclaims, as he has many times by this point, that the election was a fraud (he has set the stage for this with his false claims about mail-in ballots), and at noon, instead of acceding to the transfer of power, Trump proclaims that the swearing in was FAKE NEWS and that he remains the president.
Here is what would happen next.
On the dot of noon, the nuclear codes, which currently allow Trump to order and authenticate a nuclear attack, expire. The officer who has been following him around everywhere with the footballwhich, contrary to popular belief, is not a button or a palm print but rather a book filled with various launch codesleaves. If Trump and whatever lackeys stay with him prevent the officer from leaving, another officer, holding a backup football, would join Biden at the inauguration ceremony.
By the same token, the entire U.S. military establishment will pivot away from ex-President Trump and salute President Biden. The principle of civilian control is hammered into American officers from the time theyre cadetsand the 20th Amendment of the Constitution states, The terms of the President and Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of Januaryno ifs, ands, or buts.

(25,122 posts)the people who said she was racist, not really that different from Trump, the ones who voted third party, the ones who stayed home because, you know, 'the lesser of two evils.' Sorry, but you all have to eat it one more time. Because oh how I would love me some of that Hillary 'evil' right now. You know, the world where liberals would currently have a 6-3 majority on the court. The 'evil' where people wouldn't be facing having their health care taken away, or their right to vote, or where America wasn't sliding into autocracy."
The alternate universe where people don't fall for obvious propaganda.
