Not because it involves violence or anything like that but because it might be beyond the pale. How did we get here in four years?

(2,267 posts)I think if push comes to shove, the military will get involved on our side.

(12,264 posts)the military should, and will, stay out of the election, as it should be.
I did not mean for the military to be involved in the actual election, but as a last resort if Donnie causes havoc by calling out his armed gangs to attack people protesting his refusal to leave office.

(12,264 posts)and most will shit their pants and run home to mommy and daddies house when the first round is fired at them, granted, there will be a few who will go out with a bang, but for the most part, most are cowards who have no idea what actual combat is about, their only experience is video games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, etc.
The problem is that some or most of the federal law-enforcement agencies may stick with Trump, especially the largest ones like ICE which are replete with Trump supporters. The ones with a more sophisticated cadre, like the FBI for example, are much smaller than ICE.

(51,308 posts)Why would someone not vote because theyre frightened we might lose? Makes no sense.
Or do you mean theyre afraid to vote because of possible intimidation at the polls? People have risked life and livelihood in other countries because the right to vote is so important. I sure would be ashamed to learn we have anyone like that here.

(10,309 posts)(Unlikely, given that he lost the popular vote last time.) then I see Dems blowing up. If Trump loses I see Trumpies going berserk. If the Dems win the House, the Senate and the Executive I see the Trumpies going scorched earth. No matter the outcome, Trump has severely damaged the US, and exposed the rot at its core. We'll need a firm leader with a strong support network to merely repair the damage done, let alone build safeguards to keep it from happening again.

(1,587 posts)stealing retention of power. Enough votes against him will expose his cowardice. I expect that wide yellow streak down his back to prevail after initial attempts at violent rhetoric are not supported by as many as he imagined. Even armed thugs think twice before taking up arms against their own families. tRumps fight will be with the judicial system, and overwhelming votes against him may make even that mute. This above is an attempt to balance the doomsday scale.

(15,220 posts)Life as weve known it no longer exists. Its up to us to decide where we go from here and that is going to ultimately involve violence I fear.
