I feel pretty good about it too!
Anybody who isn't for our Party, anybody who secretly admires Chump, anybody who hints they aren't all in for Biden & Harris - they're getting blocked. Time's too precious to waste on fools and idiots.

(32,620 posts)The things some people are posting aren't necessarily objectionable. So no I'm not snitching, I'm blocking because I don't like their comments.
I do this for my own peace of mind. Same thing on Facebook, except it's getting so bad on FB that I'm taking a break for a while.
I'm just a cranky old lady, and I'd rather avoid the trollish commenters. That's all.

(7,715 posts)However, please alert. You are not snitching. Most of the times when I alert, the post is knocked out. But not always.
After lurking on this site since 2004 and being a very active member since November 2016, I had my first post hidden by a jury this morning. I immediately appealed, and within 30 minutes, the Admins reinstated my post.
DU has an extremely good set of human and automated moderators. I am totally impressed with it.
Keep in mind we will see all manner of trolling from now until at least November 3. Alerting posts is nothing unusual, and there is a real appeal mechanism that I can vouch for. If you have a reasonable doubt, I wouldn't hesitate to alert any post you are really concerned about.

I was just reporting an observation of a MAGAt neighbor, and stated how you can't get thought to them.
Notifying people what one of the MAGA attack are, and how stupid it was.

While it's good to be on our toes for faction, it's not good to jump to reactionary flagging, because it's going to knock a lot of us out of commission, and it's going to be bad enough that some Trojan Horse accounts will be flagging posts as well. We all must be on our guard to make sure we don't rubber stamp flagged posts just because someone reported them.

BLOCK YOU FOREVER YOU RACIST F*CK!
I don't even tweet anything, I just do it. They're not even tweeting me - DON'T CARE. I see that stupid MAGAt or rump2020 in the profile, you're gooooone from my eyeballs forever.
I did do that once recently on here, too. the ignore option. Someone was offensive to me responding to a neutral post I made... totally unnecessary. I don't have time for any more negativity. Adios.

There shouldn't be anyone posting here who is anti-democratic party.
FakeNoose
(32,620 posts)... I don't have to engage with them. That was my meaning, some of these low-message-count people are just trying to provoke an argument, and I'm not biting.
But I'm also not a snitch. Trolls might get another person on DU to engage with them, that's OK. Sorry if I sounded otherwise. I'm just a cranky old lady, but I'm not going to get snookered into an argument with anybody. Same thing is happening on Facebook, but it's way worse on there.

(3,401 posts)Bode well during the primaries. I have supported Joe Biden soon after the day he announced. And I received some harsh words because of it as did Joe

(15,372 posts)For example, a poster said last night that Biden will win by 20 points. I said I guarantee it wont be anything close to that, but more like 4-7 points. So Im assuming its for stuff like this, not stuff against the TOS.
FakeNoose
(32,620 posts)But I've also been seeing people helping Chump by giving his brainfarts (stupid ideas) coverage by repeating them like they're valid arguments.
Backhanded compliments for Bernie Sanders sometimes sound like a cheapshot at Joe and Kamala. Know what I mean? There's no place for it now. We have to be united behind our candidates. So my point is that I'm tired of this stuff - we're already past this.
Thanks for understanding.

(2,478 posts)Fuck your protest or something like that? The person has nothing in their Journal, it's their only post something about a friend of theirs named Tommy who got shot in the back. On another site I ripped into anyone who criticized any Democrat during the primary, I might have been even more cranky

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and we need to accept that. It's easy enough to just bypass a post and if people are so egregious that they are problematic, they will be removed by the admins.

(11,949 posts)Been preparing for a fishing trip for the last few days so have not been reading DU. Plus I take a break every now and then. It improves the mental health.
Perhaps in the last few days trolls have attacked and Im not aware.
Personally, I have never blocked anyone, ever. The real true trolls get taken care of.
But I have lately seen some who become offended when it suggested that it is not in the bag for Biden. Which it is not. At all. This will be a close election.
My favorite part of DU is respectfully disagreeing with fellow Democrats.
Unlike republicans we dont march in lockstep.
Silent3
(15,188 posts)...and deciding that everyone who (depending on your temperament) is either too worried for you, or is too optimistic for your tastes, is therefore a Trump supporter or is against the Democratic party, that's not a good thing.
I never block anyone.
I like seeing divergent points of view, whether I agree or not.
GoneOffShore
(17,339 posts)Most of the full ignores had to do with primaries or some of the really obvious crazy people that ended up moving over to JPR or just disappearing.
At the moment it's been holding steady at one mail block, and five full blocks - one of which is probably an inactive account. Most likely the blocks had to do with anti-vaxx posts or pseudo-science woo.

(1,737 posts)Many times I go back to refresh my ignore list and see that many have had their posting privileges revoked. Of late I'm ignoring those whose posts are geared towards demoralizing and depressing Democratic votes. Those posts about all hope being lost (fear mongers). I have no stomach for that kind of thought process.
