My signature on record? I have been registered at my current home for 20 years. My penmanship has always been erratic and my hand is a lot less steady than it was.

I might try your local SOS. Typically, there will be similarities even if your less steady.

I signed without it.

(34,060 posts)unless your driver's license is not renewed (with a new signature every few years).
The issue is that your signature changes over time. Most people don't renew their voter registration every few years (the way you renew your driver's license) and their signatures drifts - sometimes dramatically.
My current signature looks nothing (literally nothing) like the signature on file with the SOS - but it matches my driver's license signature perfectly. I've been called on it at least twice when I vote in person and temporarily forget how much it has changed and accidentally use today's signature.
The problem when you mail your ballot in is that calling you on it takes at least a week (verifying the ID, including siguature - notifying you that your signature doesn't match, fixing your signature and sending it back in). Fortunately I do recall what my voter's registration signature looks like and can still mimic it. But if I mimicked my driver's license - it would (correctly) be rejected.
These aren't my signatures - but my 30-year old signature style is close to the first one; my current signature is relatively close to the s second one:

Conveniently voting by mail for over 20 years.
This should have been standard practice for decades.

(10,885 posts)and it's recommended you do so if it's been many years since first registering.
In many states, you can verify your ballot has been accepted by signing in at the
Secretary of State's website.

(34,135 posts)Same as you, my signature is erratic and depends on how well my hands are working, the pen used, if it a touch pad (and if they provide a stylus or make you use your finger), the angle at which the surface is, and other factors.

(12,611 posts)In my state the Registrar called and asked if there was some reason why my DHs signature had changed so much. I told her he had Parkinsons Disease. She offered to send witnesses if he could only make an X.

But, if your signature is similar to that on your driver's license, it probably hasn't changed THAT much.

Also my state has to notify you if there is a problem and you can track your ballot status online.
