Even if they voted that Friday it would be 18 days before Election Day, with voting well underway. If Trump were to go on to lose, the Supreme Court's fundamental legitimacy would be dramatically compromised.

JUST IN: The Senate Judiciary Committee will begin confirmation hearings for President Trump’s nominee to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court left by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg on October 12 and are expected to last 4 days, a source familiar tells NPR.

Barrett's willingness to go along with this speaks to her character and willingness to put personal ambition over national interests and the institutional stability of the court itself.

Accepting this nomination is testimony to her lack of judgement, her lack of patriotism, and a corrosive need for power.

"lack of judgement" or "patriotism". This appears to be a person driven by what they think is "Their Mission". Of course that is in their religious indoctrination and beliefs. This is something that the world around them can not re-direct them from. They are convinced that this is their path to "Heaven " and no-one or thing will stand in their way.

There is NOTHING they will not do to attempt to retain power.

"Supreme Court's fundamental legitimacy would be dramatically compromised"

The goal is to delegitamize the entire structure of our Democracy.

Ya can't have a successful takeover without destroying the entire gov't structure.
And that is what Trump has been doing since he rode down that elevator.
One chip at a time till it collapses.

not to appeal cases to the Supreme Court. I suggest that again if she is confirmed in this hasty, hypocritical, shit show of a proceeding.
